How We Spent Money in 2025

Money Spent In 2025

Most of our funding went towards installation of conservation projects and staff time necessary to implement these practices and other partnership goals. These were funded by grants from the MN Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) and the MN Department of Natural Resources (DNR). BWSR also provided the grant for our Watershed Midpoint Evaluation.

The PDTRA also supplied funds for general organization expenses. This includes things like insurance, audits, and computer software.

Where the Funds Came From

Where The Funds Came From
  • Clean Water Fund (CWF): Established through the voter-approved Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment (2008), this fund receives 33% of a dedicated sales tax increase and supported grants used to implement our Clean Water Management Plan.
  • Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (ENRTF): Created by a 1988 voter-approved constitutional amendment, this fund provided the allocation for the 2024 Conservation Reserve Program.
  • State of Minnesota General Fund: The state’s primary operating fund, which financed our dam projects through the FY24–25 Get Out MORE initiative and supported the 2025 Conservation Reserve Program.
